My name is God and I am running for president of the United States.
My campaign is not about My winning; it’s about your caring—caring about each other and about the Earth. It may mean some lifestyle changes, but trust me, you will be happier in the long run. Believe it or not, I do have a bigger picture of things. If you stay on your current course, you will see more human violence, pain, and suffering. You will see more natural disasters and challenging climate changes. You will see things that you do not wish to see.
This is a very critical time in human history. The choices you make in this country will greatly affect the entire Earth and its peoples for centuries to come. The question I would raise to you is, do you fully realize what you have been choosing? Are you aware and completely conscious of how your decisions and actions, both politically and personally, affect the entire world?
Forty-five million people in this America are without health care. Eleven million children go to bed each night hungry. Thirty-five thousand children a day around the world die from starvation. These are all choices. America has chosen to spend more money on warfare than to provide food and basic health care to fellow human beings. I beg you to consider that if you spent your resources on human capital, you might not need the weapons in the first place. Remember friends, desperate people do desperate deeds.
A society’s corporations and governments are simply reflections of the people. I encourage you to think about some things. For in¬stance, if you want clean air, will you use products that pollute? If you want murders and wars to stop, will you support movies and toys that glorify the destruction of human life? You cannot blame others, unless, of course, you desire to be victims.
